Overview
CJC-1295 with DAC is the extended-duration version of the same modified GHRH(1-29) fragment, chemically conjugated to a Drug Affinity Complex that binds circulating albumin. This binding dramatically extends its research half-life compared to the non-DAC variant.
Mechanism & Research Findings
By reversibly binding serum albumin, the DAC-conjugated form is protected from rapid proteolytic clearance, producing sustained elevation of GHRH receptor engagement over an extended period in animal pharmacokinetic studies — a sharp contrast to the pulsatile profile of GHRH(1-29) or CJC-1295 without DAC. Researchers use this property specifically to study the physiological consequences of continuous versus pulsatile GHRH receptor stimulation, including downstream effects on IGF-1 production and negative feedback on the GH axis.
Research Applications
- Sustained-release GHRH receptor occupancy studies
- Pharmacokinetic / albumin-binding drug delivery research
- IGF-1 axis feedback modeling
