Overview
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is an essential water-soluble vitamin and enzymatic cofactor, supplied here as a standardized liquid research reagent for one-carbon metabolism and methylation-cycle studies.
Mechanism & Research Findings
B12 is a required cofactor for methionine synthase (converting homocysteine back to methionine) and methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, placing it at a critical junction of one-carbon metabolism, DNA methylation, and mitochondrial fatty-acid processing. It is widely used in metabolic research both as a standalone reagent for cofactor-deficiency modeling and in combination with lipotropic compound blends (such as Lipo-C) to study the interaction between methylation-cycle status and lipid-metabolism pathways.
Research Applications
- One-carbon metabolism and methylation-cycle cofactor research
- Combination studies with lipotropic compound formulations
- Cobalamin-deficiency metabolic modeling
For laboratory research use only.
